Hello
Thank you for your interest in my Project Management Consulting services! You can learn more about my background here, and use the Let's Connect section at the bottom of this page if you'd like to talk about how I can help your business.
My Story
Planning is in my DNA. I started my career in New York City as an Account Manager at an email marketing company, but it didn't take long for me to find my way into that company's Project Management department. I was drawn to the methodical organization of the field and I thrived on taking an ambiguous ask and turning it into an actionable plan.
My first job in Project Management was as a Client Solutions Lead at Experian Marketing Services, Cheetahmail, a midsize technology platform company. I had a portfolio of clients and I managed all of their technical projects. In this role I learned about data, file types, and databases, but I also learned about the importance of identifying and planning for project dependencies as part of the project schedule. This role drove home the importance of full project scoping and aligning with stakeholders on deliverables before kicking off project work.
I took a bit of a career detour and joined the Marine Corps. I spent a year and a half on active duty going through training before being assigned to a reserve infantry battalion, where I served as a Logistics Officer. At the time, combat units had just been opened to women. An unexpected part of my role was leading the integration of female Marines into an infantry unit. The majority of my time was spent planning the logistics support for more than 800 people for training exercises, managing the logistics work during exercises, and training my team on various combat and logistics skills. Project management in this role looked very different, but the core skills remain the same.
My next stop was Annalect, a midsize Data & Technology subsidiary of Omnicom Media Group. This role taught me about Program Management. I worked with vendors and our Engineering teams to develop large, complex technology that took years to complete. I learned even more about data in this role, and this is the role where I started to appreciate the value of Agile Project Management. When a project is going to take years to finish, it's important to deliver incremental value along the way.
I found my way to Movable Ink, a midsize Software as a Service (SaaS) company. It was here that I had the opportunity to establish an Enterprise PMO. In my time at Movable Ink, the company experienced rapid growth and tripled in size. I learned which Project Management best practices can help a smaller company to scale, and which by-the-book approaches would only serve to slow down a project with too much red tape. I also learned how those guidelines evolve as a company grows. Most importantly, I learned how important it is to mold a PMO to fit what the company needs at the stage it's in.
My most recent stop was Wavemaker, a subsidiary of GroupM in the WPP network of advertising companies. Here I gained experience in establishing Project Management and Operations processes at a company that was part of a larger network of interconnected companies. This was an interesting intersection of a midsize company operating with some of the constraints of a 100,000-person conglomerate.
With 10+ years' experience in these different roles, I've learned what midsize companies need from a Project Management discipline. I can work with you and your team to formalize your Project Management and PMO function in a way that will best serve your company's current needs, as well as establish the foundation that will help the team to grow and scale with your company.
